We see people find their dreams daily.
We hear stories of how their tenacity and resilience paid off.
We hear people relay how they almost gave up but somehow managed one more step, one more phone call, one more meeting, one more application and one more appointment.
It’s not a coincidence that people walk into their purpose or find dreams after several attempts, what makes the difference in the stories we hear or witness is these people didn’t let their weary heart scream louder than their faith and resolve to always give their pursuit one more shot. People who find their dreams are those who didn’t give up even when all they did was crawl. They kept going even when the darkness didn’t seem like it will give way to the light or when they didn’t think their pot of gold laid beautifully at the rainbows end.
It’s indeed interesting to know that when people finally find their dreams for the most part they paraphrase the details of their struggle making it look like their dream just happened without them having to sweat it or work too hard for it.
Most of the people who we look at cruising the freeway and living their dreams probably had their fair share of disappointment and probably received “NO” a thousand and one times more than they expected. Can’t blame anyone for focusing on their light and don’t crucify them for keeping details of their waiting room experience when they were so unsure things will change or if they will ever move from the sidewalk to the freeway.
People may never share their behind the scenes details but that shouldn’t make you feel cast off when life makes it feel like you are the only one crawling to find your purpose. Don’t let the highlights of anyone’s life make you feel like a failure.
It’s never a crime to admire people’s accomplishment and success but it becomes an issue if you let people’s life make you feel less worthy or make you feel like crawling isn’t a form of progress.
So, today in this moment if all you are doing in the pursuit of your purpose can only be summed up as crawling….. EMBRACE THE CRAWL because the type of step doesn’t matter as long as you are making progress and advancing.
There will be days when you’ll walk, run, jump and eventually fly to your purpose and see your dreams play out like a moment on the silver screen. It’s important that you resolve not to give up at the crawling phase. The best is yet to come but if you give up because all you see looks like crawling the sidelines when the whole world seem to be cruising the freeway without traffic lights….. You just might be giving up too soon.
In this moment you may just be so close to rising and what feels like your “forever crawl moment” may just be the last lap before you walk right into your spot.
Hang in there and embrace every phase, hold on in faith for the crawl is not all there is to your journey to purpose. You will touch your stars and find your dreams and like others you admire…..you will step into your own light and make it to the freeway.
Don’t you DARE GIVE UP. KEEP CRAWLING IF THAT’S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO KEEP MAKING PROGRESS.
WE ONLY WIN WHEN WE DON’T QUIT.
